Headlight wiring44 viewsThe white lead goes directly to the LED, while the blue lead goes to the resistor, then to the LED. I pulled a bit of insulation about 1/2" from the decoder on the blue wire to make that connection, and still have the blue lead to go to the tender for the reverse light.
The Potomac Project31 viewsAfter drilling out the draw bar, I fabricated a new pin from a bit of sprue left over from a pack of MT 1015 couplers. I trimmed off the smaller arms, and filed the shaft smooth. It fits snugly into the hole left by the stock pin, with the drawbar resting on the tab that I left in place. Once the painting and other body work is done, I'll use a soldering pencil to melt a "rivet" on the top of the pin to secure it permanently to the engine.

Kato F-7 5336 viewsOnce I finish detailing it with horns and glass, mu cables and some weathering, it'll pass the three feet away rule. I guess I'll have to wait till Intermountain does this scheme, too. Incidentally, it does run very nicely, and I have a black B unit mated to it.
Chopper #2534 viewsI cut the short hood to the appropriate height, then re-assemble the shell, using .010 styrene shims to make up for the saw cut, and then use small bits of styrene to reinforce the joint inside the cab.
